Group policy getting filtered... Why?

Hello fellow techs, my apologies in advance if I have posted in the wrong forum.

I am hoping someone in the forum can assist...

 

I have an OU that only has users and groups. I am trying to Map printers using gpo on this OU, problem is the gpo is getting filtered out as 'empty'.

 

I have tried all the suggestions about gpupdate /force, check authenticated users. When using login script using ad prints utility, I am able to map printers by groups. I would prefer adding printers based on ou and users.

 

I have a windows server 2012 in a windows 2008 r2 ad environment.

 

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

If you are trying to deploy printers through group policy, I would look at GPP, group policy preferences.

 

GPP is very flexible when you use item level targeting to specify an OU or security group etc.

 

a few gotchas off the top of my head are;

XP clients need a KB update to handle GPP, but most machines should have it by now.

set point and print restrictions

make sure your print processor is winprint raw.
