8.1 Setup Issues ( Display setup Page)

Hi,

I am currently having an issue diaplying the initial setup page to continue with the install.

I have been able to ally all the permissions as per the documentation, howver when I get to CONFIGURATION 1.

I can not browse to the website to csetu as i get the following error in IE:

I have tried other browser, they they do not show any error except for

The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

 

Any assistance would be apreciated.

Delete the svg line from the web.config

Thanks, i had tried theat before with no sucsess, however when i do it now, I get:

Most likely causes:

Managed handler is used; however, ASP.NET is not installed or is not installed completely.

There is a typographical error in the configuration for the handler module list.

Re-install .net 4

Sorry still no go.

I have re-installed .net 4 and restarted the server, with no joy.

 

I now get a different error,

The config file looks ok, but im not sure what im suposed to be looking for here?

Check the app pool is set to .net 4 managed, it sounds like it's IIS/.net related.

 

You may need to remove the http binding in IIS, it sometimes causes it

Hi Nick,

it turned out that the .net version had reverted back to v 2 for some reason.

once I chnaged it back i could go through the setup and make some initial changes, howevr going back in to make more chnages I Get a not found message ( see image) when entering doain user password and subsequently can not retrive any AD settings to assign groups to...etc.

Ok, that's all working correctly. Sometimes the AD Browser doesn't work, it's odd when I does and doesn't. You may have to manually enter the AD details from here on.

Into the same boxes, it should work without the AD browser. You can also do it manually in the hapconfig.xml file

Re-install .net 4

 

i think the trick is the instructions assume you have iis installed before you do dotnet 4 (probably true on a live system but if youre testing it like me not) might also be worth listing what bits of iis are required for me ive finally got setup screen up by reinstalling dotnet 4 after installing iis and various role services (some probably not needed)

 

common http features(all but http redirect and webdav)

application development (all but asp/cgi/server side includes)

health and diag (http logging & request monitor)

security (basic/windows auth & request filtering)

performance (static)

managment (iis console)
