Geoff Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 My current Samsung Pebble SM2232BW on my home gaming rig is on its last legs with an intermittent backlight issue (probably a dry joint). So I'm looking for a replacement. My current usage is gaming, tv/films and general web browsing. I've had a quick google around and the Dell U2412M seems to pop up a lot. Does anyone have any recommendations or has experience with the Dell and could offer some feedback?
teejay Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Sat in front of a U2412M as I type this, lovely monitors if you can find them at a good price, brilliant for decent colour reproduction.
teejay Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Yep, about right. Bit dearer than other monitors in that size range but far better quality than others I've seen.
craigt Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 you can find it on here 24" Dell U2412M Widescreen LED, IPS Panel Monitor - Scan.co.uk
Valentine Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) I have one, I love it, has great colour, viewing angles etc. It is also pretty cheap for an IPS monitor. Only drawback I can think of with it is it has no 1:1 pixel mapping so if you plug in an Xbox, PS3 etc you will get a stretched image as they are 16:9 devices. Possibly not the best for very fast fps gaming although I play battlefield 3, borderlands on it and notice no ghosting or other oddities. Edit: ... for playing Warcraft you want to get this. Geoff Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 It's only ever going to get plugged into my PC.
