Strange Graphical Glitch - Any Ideas?

So for several months now we have been having the same problem that we hoped reimaging would solve. It hasnt unfortuanately.

 

On several of the admin machines around school we have the problem with a graphical glitch (Hard to explain, see attached image)

 

This is happening on about 5 Office based computers in which we though where all DELL Optiplex 760's but its now happening on 755's aswell. We have tried new graphics drivers, complete reimages of all of the machines having the problem. Its happening on All office applications and on SIMS aswell. The only common thing between them now seems to be that they all print to Samsung ML3310ND printers and that it sometimes happens shortly after printing. We also get the Port is not connected error message from the Printer and dont seem to be able to close it but we are really stuck. Any Ideas?

I had a similar thing with Intel graphics cards on our laptops.

 

Basically turned out to be a glitch in the card itself and was to do with a very specific set of events.

 

You may experience display corruption issues on certain Intel graphics processing unit (GPU) chipsets in Windows 7

 

The solution here was to disable Intel-VT on the laptops as its not used here anyway. We didn't fancy the downgrade of the RAM to 2GB lol v odd though!

Yeap, screwed up GPU, you can either fix it with better drivers/new GPU or turn Aero off entirely to go back to the really old way of CPU rendering giving up all the power of the GPU.

Been down to 2 of the machines this morning. The 760 had VT turned off already and 2gb of RAM from 2x1GB modules.

 

Another one is a DELL Optiplex 380 and it had 3gb of RAM and VT turned on. Will have to wait and see what happens. Still got another 760 to look at but its always in use.

Had many issues myself with the Intel drivers built into the Windows 7 OS, graphics, blue screening etc.

 

Installing the latest drivers from the Dell/Intel website always cured it for me. It is a graphics refresh problem.
