enjay Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 At present, our Quick Letters are set to print the date as 04/09/2012, using the flag in the merge document. I would like to change this to show a long date, i.e. 4 September 2012, but can't work out how. Any offers?
vikpaw Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Easiest thing to do is to insert a traditional Word Date field and set it to auto-update. You can choose any formatting you want.
Cache Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I editted the macro in the 2003 template, not sure if you can do the same in 2010 (with the macro security, haven't tested it yet).
enjay Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 I'm missing something here - I changed C:\Program Files\QuickLetterTemplate.doc, and when I edited the font, it was fine, but when I also edited the date field I broke the macro which adds the details into the letter. What am I doing wrong?
vikpaw Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 There's a Quick Reference Sheet for QuickLetters, that discusses making a local copy and putting it in your my sims documents. This should be in your my documents and if roaming profile, follow you around. This may help, as the program files folder is probably a protected location if you're on windows 7. Not sure if that may have any impact.
