thin client / virtual desktop on laptops wirelessly

is this possible? We have a bunch of old computers we would like to bring back to life in the next year or so, but they are all laptops/netbooks.

 

Is it possible to use these as thin clients?

Yes, even thinclients have an OS, it is usually just a very limited one, get something on there that speaks RDP or whatever you are using and supports the hardware and you'll be fine. Windows ThinPC, thinstation etc. configure it with the right drivers and a key to connect to your wireless and your good to go.
