Upstream Proxy for RM Smartcache 2

Hi Guys, just had to reconfigure our RM smartCache2. I configured the upstream proxy to be that of the LA proxy now I have no control over filtering. I was told that I can set the upstream proxy to the IP of the SmartCache2. Does anyone know if this is possible, not much of a squid head myself. Thanks in advance
