RabbieBurns Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Is the only difference between this Newegg.com - Intel E10G42BFSR X520-SR2 Ethernet Server Adapter 10Gbps PCI Express 2.0 x8 2 x LC and this Newegg.com - Intel E10G42BTDA Server Adapter X520-DA2 10Gbps PCI Express 2.0 x8 2 x SFP+ that one comes with the modules and the other doesn't? If I order the modules (Newegg.com - Intel E10GSFPSR Ethernet SFP+ SR Optics) separately will they work with both?
Soulfish Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 According to Intel® Ethernet X520 Server Adapters the DA2 is the direct attached version so comes with those bits. However Intel® Server Adapters — Which SFP+ modules, SFP modules, and cables can I use with the X520 Series? also indicates that the only real difference between the cards is the optics they're coming with, and you can mix and match to your hearts content 1
