RegDBGetKey ValueEx failed

I'm trying to install PolicyCentral on a Windows 7 machine and it is failing with the above. Google hasn't been much help. Before I go back to Forensic Software, can anyone shed any light?

Well short answer is it can't find/access a reg key.

 

Whether that's due to permissions, or the key is missing?

Best option, get something like process monitor and see what it's trying to access.

 

If it's older software, and win7 (64bit?) it's likely alot of of the regkeys moved from where they were originally
