Anything obvious/simple that stops a workstation from importing rptdef files into SIMS (held on another machine via s drive) when 2 others do the same rptdef file OK?

Maybe SIMS permissions? Or is it the same login?

Aside from that my biggest question is why you want to import it from multiple machines? Once you import a RptDef, it should become a publicly available report in SIMS anyway...

EDIT: just to clarify, by publicly available I mean that once a RptDef has been imported once (on any machine), it will be available via "Reports > Run Report" for all users, so shouldn't need importing again

I know its a common system :)

Just wandered why I couldn't import on one particular machine - its says the rptdef file isn't valid

This was using same login as bursar normally uses on her machine

Just wondered if it was a common/easy to fix issue :)

When it happened, the sec on that machine said - oh - its always done that so I was just looking for a reason :)

weird, i wonder if it opens it locally and / or changes something that requires local access that the sec doesn't have..?

was it same pc login and same sims login?

Not same pc login - I'll check to see if that user has big rights on the bursars machine (its just a peer-peer setup) - ta :)
