vladker Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Hello all, Had a strange problem today. A user sent 10 copies of a document to a Konica MFP which then, overnight, decided to print an entire ream of this document ! The user swears she only printed 10, and the printer logs support this, as these jobs appear to come as individual jobs of 1 copy each (although, not enough for the 500 pages). To complicate this somewhat, I have only just migrated everyone over to a new 2008 VM from a physical 2003 print server. The only difference in the configuration is that the 'client-side rendering' option was enabled (default for 2008+). The only complaint from the user was that printing was taking ages, so she logged off and went home. Given this, I am assuming that client side rendering might in some way be the culprit (the document was large, containing multiple photographs). Has anyone had any similar experiences - or can advise Thanks in advance
SYNACK Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Newer drivers or the drivers in conjunction with the doc itself could be the problem. We had a dirty Toshiba copier that split some Excel docs into 300 pages a time when the doc was only two pages total on any decent printer.
vladker Posted June 22, 2012 Author Posted June 22, 2012 Thanks synack. Glad to know i'm not going insane. Typically, I can't even replicate the issue, even on the same PC and with the same document. If it reoccurs, ill try downgrading the driver.
