FE/HE Systems

Hello All

 

I am new to the forum and seeking some advice and help. I am new to the FE/HE sector and my place of work doesnt currently have an MIS in place. We are in desperate need of joining the modern age and any advice on appropriate systems would be much appreciated. We are a relatively small college of 300 students we run Diplomas and degrees. We are looking for something that will hold student data and allow us to drwa reports based on various factors, keep an academic record of achievemnt and calculate grades, student applications and recruitment, attendance and registers and probably a million other things. I would love to hear your thoughts, especially from any other Perf Arts colleges and how you manage these systems and efficiency.

don't often get much talk of f/he systems here.

One that sometimes comes up is unit-e from capita

Capita FHE - Capita Further and Higher Education : student tracking and education management information systems

try that as a starting point / google search and some other names may pop up.

Maybe some of the existing school mis suppliers on here can tell me if they also have higher systems.

Not sure about your specific needs in that sector but you should definitely look at Aspen from Follett who sponsor this forum. It's cutting edge and extremely flexible and should handle any needs you have. Talk to @GREED

Thank you for your response. I will look into Capita. We have appointments with SERCO booked and have also spent some time with Paritor as they are partially involved in our sector.

As @vikpaw mentioned, Follett do product an MIS which usually targets the schools/6th form market. However, without sounding like every other sales person you have run into, it really is so very flexible to meet any educational establishment need, I would be interested in speaking with you and finding out your specific requirements, and I would be happy to explain in a little more detail the Aspen product.

 

At the very least, you can see if the product suits your needs, and if not cross it off you growing list of possible systems!
