reggiep Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Wow, Lion is different isn't it! I am trying to pre-empt the rush of iPads coming in to our school by setting up Profile Manager in the Lion Server App. I fail almost instantly as when when I click "configure", select my own servers unsigned certificate, click next and try to use my apple ID I get an error... "Error getting push certificate" I really don't know if this is some sort of proxy issue or port issue but I don't know what is causing it. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks
HodgeHi Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I think the service goes out to apple' servers to obtain a cert. Maybe it is a proxy or port issue. Just found this site: Apple - Support - Lion Server - Profile Manager Not sure if there is any info here that may help.
reggiep Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 Thanks for that. Weirdly I tried logging in with my personal itunes account rather than our school one and it logged in! Still doesn't work but one step closer I suppose!
HodgeHi Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 IIRC when I was looking at it at home i found that if the server had a cname record in it's dns then the web-based services wouldn't work correctly. This was when 10.7 server was first released though, and I may be getting confused with the Apache/WiKi/other non-working services.
