Computer Users Information Service - anyone dealt with them?

I've been getting a few emails recently from an organisation calling themselves the "Computer Users Information Service", who claim that:

 

For over 30 years, the Computer Users Information Service has been helping organisations like yours find sources for IT Products and IT Services. As we are funded by the IT industry, you have an entitlement to use this at no charge.

This language, along with their name, suggests they are some kind of impartial advice service, but as a BCS member, the fact I had never heard of this supposedly industry-funded body set off warning bells. In the small print they state it's actually a trading name of MINCA (Computing) Ltd, who according to Companies House were established in 1994 - 18 years ago, which casts some doubt on this "30 years" claim.

 

I suspect that what they actually are is a business directory service, funded by clients who pay them a fee for introductions. Does anyone know more about them or how they operate? They don't seem short of testimonials, so they may well be good at what they do, but I get a little suspect when I get emails touting for business that appear to be using weasel-words.
