Google Drive Proxy Switching

One thing Dropbox doesn't do is proxy switching so I have to do some tricks for teachers to access a school dropbox from home on their laptops and when they bring the laptop into school.

 

Does anyone (in the 0-24 hours we've had it so far ) know if Google Drive follows IEs proxy setting automatically?

it looks like it does, but it doesn't currently work with authenticating proxies.

I caught it following IE when firing up the laptop at work this morning (needs a proxy there). The tool tray icon "dims" when it can't connect, fix the IE proxy and it notices and brightens up within maybe 30 seconds.

 

IE isn't my default browser so that's arguably broken, not that I really care to argue.

The IP addresses that the various domain names resolve to cannot be assumed to fall inside any given address range. IP addresses used by Google Drive may be used by other Google properties. The techniques that Google Drive uses to connect to Google servers depend on the browser, browser version, and networking conditions, among other things. Even if activity to some of the addresses above is not observed in a particular Google Drive product, that doesn’t mean it never will be.
