Office 2010 Crashing when Hyperlinking to PDF files.

Good morning all,

 

Having an issue with documents crashing when hyperlinking to a PDF either local or on a network share. The version of adobe reader is 10.0.0 and office 2010 has service pack and all updates installed. If I press control alt delete to try and stop the program I get "microsoft excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action excel 2010" this happens in all programs not just excel. Then the PDF decides to load. I was told it was working fine a few weeks ago so I am stuck as to what could have caused this sudden change.

 

Has anyone else experience something similar and can help me out at all?
