FN-GM Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Hi, Currently i have an website at this URL: http://www.website.com/Sandbox - I would like this to be moved to vle.website.com. I would like any links from the old location to work on the new one. I have a website running on the root of the old URL (http://www.website.com) i would like this not to be affected. For now both sites are running on the same server. How would i go about doing this please? I not an IIS (or any webserver) guru, so please forgive my ignorance. I am running IIS 7.5. Many Thanks
X-13 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) This may be helpful. I have literally no experience with IIS. And accept no liability if this destroys any/every thing and/or results in Skynet. Edited March 27, 2012 by X-13 Jesus H Christ... I can't spell today.
FN-GM Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Thats not URL Rewrite, that telling you how to add multiple domains to one IIS site. Thanks anyway
danbuntu Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I would check if you VLE supports changing the url. FOr example with moodle you can go to http://www.sitename.com/admin/replace.php this will then let you put in the old url and the new, then search and replace in the old url in the database with the new one. there fore you wouldn't need url rewrite
