Blue_Cookeh Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Hey Guys, I recently deployed Live@Edu in our school and I have an issue where after a couple of weeks Outlook will ask for the user's mailbox password, even though I told it to remember it when I first set Outlook up... we don't use SSO or sync passwords so this is a fairly annoying issue because it means users have to ask me to put the password in. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
ihaveaproblem Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Has the user changed their password? What OS and version of outlook are you using?
Blue_Cookeh Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 No password changes. Using Outlook 2010 and it happens on both XP and W7.
Kitkatninja Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Not sure if this is the same issue, however we've found that on some PC's/laptops Outlook (with Exchange 2010) will ask for the users password. To get round this we've configure the users Outlook profile to use NLTM authentication instead of negotiate (or auto-negotiate, can't remember which one it is). 1

This sounds like our problem, will give it a go on Monday!
glennda Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Go into control panel and then credential manager. Delete the user/pass for outlook. You will find it happens after a password change.
