Thinstation & WideScreens

Hello

we are using Thinstations and they work fine

now our company plan to change our display standard to 16:10 TFT´s with an screen resolution of 1680x1050.

is it possible to use this screens? in my tests they only work with 4:3 (1600x1200)

can anyone help me?

You need to hack your own modelines into the thinstation x.org configuration. I know of no way to do this manually. You will have to build x.org manually yourself and add it to your thinstation image.

you mean that i have to build my own xorg6-mycard package??

if yes how can i do this? (i have no skills with linux)

no you have to create your own build package, rather than binaries. I suspect you're going to run in to trouble with this if you have no prior experience.

Yeah, I know. It sucks. Hopefully the Thinstation devs will address this shortcoming at some point.

you mean it is possible that the developer work on this and maybe this is available in a next relase or a new package.

sorry for this stupid questions but im an absolutly beginner with Linux an i am happy that i have implemented Thinstations in our environment

I'd file a bug report with the Thinstation devs. That'd be the best way to get this fixed.
