Hi Guys,

I am looking at a cheap but effective remote access for 100 concurrent users at my secondary school. Ericom looks like an excellent alternative citrix. Still trying to get my head round it.

How do you have it set up? A server running the software and terminal services.

How much storage do you use for virtual machines?

Really just after a rough idea of how you have it set up and running.

Many thanks

We have Ericom on a single server (no load balancing as it costs money). This server has terminal services (we have another TS server that does the licensing - we have 200 user CALS to cover staff only access). It is virtual, has 8Gb memory (this changes depending on time of year) 2 x quad core processors and 100Gb HD and all apps installed through TS. It is published through TMG port 4000. Only publish remote applications, not desktops. We use terminal services or View for this both through a VMWare broker

There are probably only 20 users using it concurrently most nights (goes up to 40-50 at report writing time hence the change of memory up to 12Gb) so I couldn't comment on if it will scale up to 100 users.

My suggestion would be to get 2 free copies and give half the users one external URL connected to one Ericom instance and the other half to the other.

Hope this helps
