Quackers Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Recently bought Ruckus, were going around installing, got 14 Points all done so far.(7363's) Plug in, wait for it to appear in the Ruckus Zone Director with the AP Name RuckusAP , click edit, give it a different name, eg Room 2, set which WLAN group they are in, set the IP to static, save, it reboots and all is good. Last 2 points we have installed its not doing this, they appear in the Zone Director, but they have no name, and they are auto assigning there WLAN group, and i cannot edit the settings, clicking edit does not bring up the big orange/yellow boarded config box. Other weird thing is in the list of AP's all the correctly configured ones list 5.0Ghz Channels then 2.4 Ghz Channels, these 2 are doing it the other way round. I have tried a factory reset on the AP's but they do exactly the same again. Whats going on?
White_Fi Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Whilst the APs are rebooting from a factory reset delete the AP from the ZD. Once it re-provisions and is connected try again. If something has gone wrong then just a factory reset of the AP will not help. The ZD will keep the settings for that AP's MAC address. Removing it will insure a "fresh" AP join.
Quackers Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 The delete button is greyed out in the Zone Director when i click the MAC Address of that AP.
White_Fi Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Can i ask what version the ZD is running? SSH into the ZD hit enter at the first username Login run the following cmds without quotes "enable" "config" "no ap [MAC address of AP]" 1
Quackers Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Thanks for the help, managed to sort it by rebooting Zone Director once most users had gone home. Version is 9.1.0.0 build 23
White_Fi Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Good stuff, fyi 9.3 is out now. Contact your VAR or support guys for the FW
Little-Miss Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Hmmm, interesting to see if it will sort my iPad problem...but to be honest I don't see it being my ruckus setup....
