Projector suggestion please

The Optoma DS311 projectors I put in just over a year ago are dropping like flies - they keep losing colour sync and going psychedelic - so I'm looking for other options that give us what the Optoma's do: BASIC (read "consumable"!), bright classroom projectors.

 

Criteria:

At least 2100 lumens

no more than £240 each

resolution: at least SVGA

Inputs: vga and composite

6000 hour lamp life

 

Any suggestions?

Try the Acer x110p, I'm pretty sure the specs are similar. Normally they costs around the £220 mark (although the last batch we had in were only £205.

If you tell them your Education you should get a better warranty most do 5 years now, but your other Optoma units are DLP NEVER buy a DLP unit for a school they are not up to it on any make DLP are NOT reliable at all.

I don't know how rapidly you go through bulbs, but have you considered an LED projector instead?

 

The Casio ones comes with a 5 year guarantee for education and there are no filters to clean and no bulbs to change... I love them! I paid just over £600 ex VAT for an XJ-M130EDU last term.

 

When you consider the cost of bulbs you would use in a conventional projector over the 5 year guarantee period for the Casio one, it doesn't make it expensive.
