Silverlight error 2108 due to splash screen missing/unable to be loaded

Had this error this morning and wanted to document it in case anyone runs into a similar problem in future.

 

Installed 7.9 from scratch today, all working except for the following error when using the Extended version of My Files:

Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application
Code: 2108
Category: InitializeError
Message: 2108 An error has occured

 

Everything worked fine after that if you just clicked OK, but it would pop up again whenever you changed folder.

 

A few posts online suggested this was something to do with a Silverlight splash screen not loading. On inspecting the source of MyComputerSL.aspx, I found it was looking for a splash screen file called MyComputerSLSplash.xaml

 

This file is missing from the 7.9 download on the HAP website. I copied the same file from the 7.8 download and the problem was resolved.

 

(Message to future people: if you are having this problem and the file is not missing, try requesting it directly in the browser and see if you get an error of some kind.)
