Odd shared printer problem

It's an HP1020 connected to a 2K3 server usb port and shared with others in the office. All of a sudden it stops printing. Send a test print, the job flashes up in the print queue and then clears but no print. I've reinstalled the drivers disconnected the printer and the next step would be to reboot the server but that will have to wait until tomorrow morning. I'll swap the printer at lunchtime. Anything else I can try without rebooting?

Just restart the print spooler rather than restarting the printer, at least as a first step.

 

It's not something daft with paper sizes either is it?
