Single User Creation Tool

We are a school of about 500 Pupils and 60 Staff...

 

We commonly get new pupils starting at random times throughout the year.

 

I would love a tool that out office staff could have access to that could:

 

Enable the staff to create the user, specifying what Display name, logon name, and password as well as what OU to put them in that could be linked to my AD on our PDC.

 

Best of all, if it could be free? If any one knows anything, or use anything similar, let me know please!

Could you just delegate control to ad and give them a custom console and just get to copy an existing user?

Im sort of looking for more of an end user friendly GUI. Ie, type the details you want, press "Add", done. Ideally something I have to give minimal training for.

XIA Automation by Centrel Solutions, we use it here and to say that it is excellent is an understatement.

It should be noted that all of what you want to do can be scripted / front end added in VB (.NET or otherwise) but for the small amount Centrel charged us for XIA Automation it wasn't worth the bother.

 

The added benefit of XIA Automation is that you can do much more than just automate user creation.

 

 

Oh and when you've created the automation profile to add one user the same profile can be used to create many just by uploading a .CSV file.

Ive actually taken what sted said and taken it a bit further.

 

My end I use Remote Server Administration Tools as im on the same domain.

 

My office staff have an rdp link to a locked down account restricted to AD Users & Computers.
