500 Internal Server Error

Hi,

 

I am trying to set up HAP+ on our network using the video as a guide. I am using the latest HAP 7.6 on a 2008 R2 server running IIS 7.5. I had no indicated errors on installation and configuration. AD Authentication seems to be working fine i.e. when I try to logon to HAP with an invalid user, HAP indicates such on the logon screen, when I try to logon with a valid user, I get presented with the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error page. Any idea's anyone.... what to check?

It was the dreaded duplicate mime type svg in web.config.

 

500 Error gone away, now I get (with a valid user)

What username are you trying to log on with? Usually that error means that it either can't connect to AD to get the user, or the username/password is wrong

The Username that I'm using is 'teststaff'. I know that the user exits and the password is valid. I know that my connection to AD is fine... it worked during setup.

Do you have sub domains/sub forests?

no... we just have one domain 'tjwa.local'

A user that has access to AD... is that what you mean?

On the setup page, what user did you use to connect to AD? It needs to really be an administrator

It's not an Administrator user, but a user that can access AD. It is the same user that I use for my Moodle AD authentication and that works. Does the user need to be in Administrators or Domain Admins?

It unfortunately, needs to be a domain admin user. it's only used for AD access outside of the user's logon, and really only for logging on and user authentication
