irsprint84 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Before I used to unicast wth no issues and if there were more than 10 pcs it would just wait before other were done. I have to re-do fog and setup the same as I recall from last time but if I do more than one pc fog/knernel/bzimage takes about 5 mins so does fog/images/init.gz take 5 mins Though when it gets to the imaging part it doesnt complain about multiple images or causes network issues, anyone come across this?
morganw Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 If it's just the TFTP transfer at the start which is slow this can be caused by buggy PXE implementations on network interfaces. I've seen this type of behaviour using Dell Optiplex 760 machines, the transfers are slow and bursty and multiple machines connecting to the server seems to make it worse. I would retest with a PC that has a different network interface. This problem isn't FOG specific, downloading a WinPE image through WDS has the same slow down.
