elsiegee40 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 The title says it all really... I wonder how many filters will let it through though! @tom_newton will undoubtedly have done his homework on this one already! YouTube Lets Schools Opt for Educational Videos | MindShift YouTube for Schools - YouTube 1
ihaveaproblem Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 looks nice but would this still be accessable if you were blocking the youtube domain as it's on the same.
ihaveaproblem Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 That's exactly my thought! Be interesting to hear what the internet gods say
russdev Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Looking at it just been trying to get it to work locally using fildder but not got it to work yet. However as I read it idea is that unblock Youtube and any request to youtube will get redirect to education site (unless you logged into account that is allowed full access)as you alter http header with a custom code for your school/LA etc.
mavhc Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 You can whitelist videos on your admin youtube account, and whitelist other accounts, but you can't a) say all google apps users in group x are whitelisted, or b) let other accounts whitelist videos. Decent start, but needs some refinement
elsiegee40 Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 You'd have thought someone in Youtube would have evolved sufficiently (and I have chosen my vocabulary carefully there) to work out that a different URL would make life much simpler for schools. As it is, I can see many schools not bothering!
