I'm feeling lazy. The staff all need an additional column to be added to their marksheets. It's the column for Free School Meals.

The column needs to be visible for all teachers who could access the sheet.

Is there any way I can do this without having to edit each template individually?

Cheers,

D

Afraid not, your best bet is getting them to do it themselves as @Brucy suggested. Pass it off as training and explain that there are a myriad of extra details they can access this way ;)

They could, but then others who open the same sheet (curriculum leaders, SLT) would also have to do this when the sheet is opened. More importantly, they'd have to remember to do this.

IIRC it doesn't stay forever. If I made a central change to the template, it would go, wouldn't it?

Correct, you can add the columns to the template itself and they will show every time a marksheet is opened, but you will have to do that manually to each template first.

It would work as a stop-gap until I get round to fixing the templates, I suppose...

Maybe the terms are getting confused here, but editing the template is the way to go, not just a stop-gap. When you add a column choose "Add columns for additional student info" as the type, last one (5th) down the list. This adds it to the top in blue, as a fixture. I quite often put reg group, and gender here, and D.O.B is great for primary school.

As Josh said, you need to do it for all templates you want it on, but at least it's not every marksheet!
