hfnistelrooy Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Im trying to install server 2003 on a spare server and set it up as a file server, however when trying to install server 2003 by booting from the CD it gives me the blasted "No hard drive found" error. I dont have the SATA drivers to boot using the F6 option. Are there any generic drivers that I can use to load the drivers so that it picks up the hard drive? The other option is to virtualise the server using VMWare ESXi
Dos_Box Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Why not just download the controller drivers from the server manufacturer?
Quackers Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 What brand server is it? If its DELL you can normally boot of one of there Server build CD's first with add the drivers, then you insert the Server 2003 disc
hfnistelrooy Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 I couldnt find the controller drivers for the server, will do a proper search when I am at the school on Friday, I want to virtualise the server, but I need to look at the pros and cons of doing so
