ActiveTeach audio issues

Since upgrading many laptops to Windows 7 I've been getting teachers complain that the audio in ActiveTeach after a while of playing sounds like a darlek!! I'm yet to check to see whether the drivers are up-to-date but this is happening on many different models and so am thinking it could be something else.

 

Anyone had a similar problem?

Unfortunately not yet. I'm yet to check that the latest drivers are present but not too confident this will solve it.

How To Disable Audio Enhancements in Windows 7

 

1. Make sure you have a headset or external speakers available - you may find greyed options otherwise.

2. Make sure the audio drivers are non-generic and up to date - then disable enhanced audio.

3. Keep an eye on the audiodg.exe process to see if it's creeping up when using audio playback software.

I've updated the drivers on one laptop to test and does seem to be better but am still waiting for some feedback from the teacher. If this doesn't solve it I'll try disabling the enhancements and see how that goes. Cheers

We found a work around for this problem, by pointing the shortcuts at wrapper.html instead of wrapper.exe

Well I'm trying out the html file instead as even with sound enhancements disabled, we're still getting crackling (Not pork). I'll let you know how it goes.
