OSMITH Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I have recently found some benchmarking software and come across 'NovaBench'. I have tested a few PCs and have collected some results. Is anybody familiar with or have any views on 'NovaBench'? Would like to hear what you think of it.
Dos_Box Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 It's OK, however, like many benchmarking tools, it uses it's own metrics. TBH, you know when machines are getting old and slow, and most slowdowns on school networks are caused more by the 'system' itself than hardware. For example, large profiles, incorrect AV settings, poorly written educational software, background processes, old/slow networking components are all far more likely to cause slowdown in a computer than 5 year old hardware. What computers are you running, out of interest?
OSMITH Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 Thanks for your reply, I have used it simply as a free piece of software to achieve a benchmarking 'score' so that they can be compared. We are running the Dell Optiplex machines.
