Hi We are having problems wit our mail core switch, its two netgear switches in a stack. The problem we are experiencing is that this will random reboot and another switch with a lag also reboots. All the switches are layer 3 and none of the remote switches connected to this stack reboot?

 

I have enable rstp on the stack and the remote switches, the problem is that I have to manually disable stp on the core switch on the port or it doesnt work.

We use RSTP on all our netgear switches, works fine.

 

I would question the point in having a layer 3 switch if your only a school. Our network runs great with just GS724T's all around.

 

Oh and make sure you have latest firmware on all switches.
