bossman Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Hi All, Within assessment going through the focus menu to marksheet entry as a class teacher, upon opening any of the marksheets available and right clicking on the grid at the left hand side in the student box it brings up 2 functions, one is to select additional student columns. Within the select columns to display as a teacher there is one tick box missing which is the Looked After column. If I add the SEN co-ordinator access permissions group to a test user who has just class teacher permissions then the Looked after column appears. What I am saying is this, should the class teacher permissions allow this Looked after column to be viewed as all the other columns are available to the class teacher profile. Does anyone else have this? I have the permissions XLS spreadsheet and there seems to be no mention of this function availability (if there is then I am missing it) Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Sivadam Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Class Teachers only have access to the 'Disabilities' section of the 'Welfare' area for Pupils (Panel 10 of Pupil Details). This is a safeguarding issue!
bossman Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 Class Teachers only have access to the 'Disabilities' section of the 'Welfare' area for Pupils (Panel 10 of Pupil Details). This is a safeguarding issue! Thanks for getting back so quickly @Sividam appreciate it, is there any way I can allow access to this for all the class teachers without creating an issue over safeguarding as it has been made a requirement by SLT for them to be able to access and print off this information prior to our up and coming Ofsted. Thanks in advance
Sivadam Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) Sorry for the delay in responding. You could clone the Class Teacher Groups in Sysman7 and then add the Permissions. This cloned group would then automatically update with future SIMS Upgrades. In Sysman6, cloned groups often lost these extra permissions with Upgrades. If I was asked to allow all staff to view this area I would refuse unless I had a written instruction to do so via a Senior Manger. These fields should be restricted to authorised personnel. It is sufficient for the rest of the staff to just know who is in care. This can be done via other methods! Having said all that, the LAC Column appear in Marksheets for those authorised to see it! (I can but for the first time in quite a few years we have no LACs!) Edited September 22, 2011 by Sivadam
