aggiefranchise Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Hi, I am experiencing an issue with some Dell Latitude E6410 laptops that are not properly authenticating wirelessly prior to the students logging on. If it is just one or two laptops at a time, Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager handles it fine. The problem occurs when multiple laptops try to authenticate at once. The settings we're using are 802.1x and LEAP, the checkbox for authenticate prior to logon is checked and the wireless profile is available for all users. We are using the Cisco 1131G wireless access points. The OS is Windows XP Pro. Please let me know if anyone has encountered this issue or knows of a reliable 3rd party application that can handle this task of pre-logon authentication, thank you.
plexer Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 The only one I know and would recommend is odessey from juniper, SecureW2 is another option. Ben
aggiefranchise Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Thank you for the suggestions Plexer, I will look further into these.
Ric_ Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I don't know what wifi chipsets those laptops run but I have had success with the Intel ProSet tools before too.
