Printers through group policy - Possible profile problem maybe?? I dont know.

On Xp we used to install the printers at base image and roll them out with the image. Over last year i have been moving over to a pretty neat vbs script which will map the printer depending on the users department, computer name etc. Now the script only half works on windows 7 as we havent installed any printer drivers on the machines so when a standard user logs in they cant see the right printers. Is there a way to get round this and still be able to deploy the printers via script? Its a strange one though as we have a couple of HP 2015s and in one room they map fine with the script but in another room the printer doesnt map at all,

so i thought about moving over to deploying printers via group policy.

This has worked perfectly fine but one slight problem, when a member of staff logins into say ICT01-01 they get ICT01 printer then when they log off and move to ICT02-01 they get ICT02 printer but also have ICT01 printer in devices and printers. The group policy roll out is set for machine only rather than per user. When a pupil logs in, they only see said printer in said room, other printers dont follow them around as they dont have roaming profiles. Is there a way to get round this too??

Create a login script to delete the registry key for all printers. I have a KIX script that will do this. Then GPP can add the correct printers?
