Summary:

 

The Department of Civil and Structural Engineering is seeking to recruit an IT Technician who will provide advice and assistance to staff and students on computer/IT related issues and will carry out computer and software upgrades as well as installation of computer peripherals. You will be responsible for specifying, recommending and ordering of new computer equipment, setting up new computers to user requirements, creation of accounts and registration on the University network and liaising with CICS with regard to the administration of networked printing, file-stores, email accounts and general computing issues.

 

The successful applicant will hold a HND or a BEng/BSc in an IT related subject or have equivalent experience, will have a relevant experience in a computing/IT support role and have up to date knowledge of current and legacy computing and networking systems. You will have effective communication and interpersonal skills to deal with staff, students and other internal/external contacts and have excellent customer service skills, with experience of responding efficiently and effectively to phone and email enquiries.
