restoring a security group in AD

Hi guys.

 

Had a bit of a problem here today, the security group we call gsgStudents which contains all students has disappeared from AD.

 

I know that it is possible to restore objects but does anyone have a good guide or method to do this? we have Server 2008

 

Is there anything that I need to be aware of?

have you enabled AD recycle bin?

We dont have r2. just the standard edition of 2008

dont panic!! Ive done it now.

 

It was really easy. Downloaded ADRestore from sysinternals, ran the file from the command line searching for all gsgstudents with the -r to restore it.

 

Job Done!!
