[sims] Sims SLG and SP2010

Has anyone had any dealings with running the SIM SLG on sharepoint 2010? Capita say they dont support upgrade and that the slg only works on new installs, i dont want to re create our whole site and pay capita more money to come and reinstall everything as they have said only they can re-setup the SLG

I m pretty good with sharepoint but because of all the gumf it comes with I wouldnt try and do a straight upgrade, sp2007 be supported for a while any reason for move?

we have a new LMS system which had problems runnign on our 2007 we tested on 2010 and works well so we want to upgrade to run the lms system
