Jamo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 This is one of the MAJOR downsides of MDT. The creation of templates is a totally manual process involving creating the task sequence etc can be customised then saved as a new template. This however does not create a template for the unattend.xml file does it? It is rather annoying having to edit the file each time to stop it from adding the US keyboard settings. Anyone managed to get this sorted?
Jamo Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Just had a thought could I edit the templates in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Deployment Toolkit\Templates changing the default XML files copied over?
Jamo Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Hi me again.... I have managed to make a default template for XP by editing Unattend.txt and Sysprep.inf to create a default setup for us. However the Windows 7 xml files don't make sense to me.... there are 6 of them for a start... I can understand the x64 ones but..... There is: Unattend_x86.xml Unattend_Core_x86.xml Unattend_PE_x86.xml What does each do?!
