With the new look Ubuntu in 11.04 I like the new task bar on the left but once you have a terminal session open it just brings it to the front rather then opening a new one

Anybody found a way to set it so that you can open multiple?

On 10.04LTS I've got the option to open a new tab (ctrl+alt+t).

Does it still do the same thing when you press ctrl+shift+n to open a new window?

Yeah it does - i forgot about that its just annoying you cant click and it opens another one! i expected it to be a bit like win7 where you can over over and select it again and it opens - apparently not!

I knew that - don't think i wrote it well - i wanted to know if there was a way of making the sidebar more like win 7!

Not that I can see sadly .. but if you find a way, let us know! :) I've just put it on my work PC (I virtualise if I need Windows lol) ..

I've got both with 4 screens and use synergy to connect between them using 1 keyboard and mouse! although i'm starting to use the ubuntu one more and more but mainly for ssh to the servers and i have loads open all the time hence the annoyance of not being able to connect to it directly by pressing the button
