On a bit of a scrounge for a laptop part

Good morning all,

 

Trying to fix a laptop for a friend-of-the-wife's and having ruled out every component down to the motherboard/cpu I've pondered whether the detachable power board from the mainboard could be the culprit.

 

The power/usb board part number if a Hannstar J MV-4 DA0ZR1PB6D1 Rev D looking like

The laptop is an Acer Aspire 3055WXMI with a DA0ZR3MB6EO REV 6 motherboard.

 

Reluctant to splash a lot of cash on this (ie, new motherboard) but just wondered whether any Edugeekers had a broken down laptop anywhere with the power board I could try before breaking the bad news!
