Mr.Ben Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I have spent this morning trying to hide the Favourites icon/menu in the explorer pane. I have sucessfully used the ADM file in the gotchas list and hidden libraries, homegroup etc, but the favorites section does not seem to have an effect. i am using the correct values (treble checked!) I have managed to hide favorites as an administrative user, by changing the value in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\ShellFolder\, but this does not effect any other users apart from admins, any network user logs in and can still see the favorites icon. Is there anything else that I am missing? I'm using W7 SP1/Server 08R2 SP1
ChrisMiles Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Try this: Bibliotheken, Favoriten & Co. im Navigationsbereich des Windows Explorer entfernen
Mr.Ben Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 Thanks Chris, but no luck! This again works with admin users with local profiles, but not network users with roaming profiles. Any other ideas?
ChrisMiles Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Long shot but are you using 64-bit because I see reports of having to also set the same value in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\ShellFolder for it to work on 64-bit.
