Help with Smart Notebook 10 install error

Hi there,

 

I've been trying to install Smart Notebook 10 on a computer with an old Athlon Xp 2600 CPU, and I'm getting an error message on set up "Requires Pentium 4 processor". I was under the impression that the Athlon Xps were Pentium 4 equivalents.

 

I've been trying to install "smartnotebook10_7patch.exe" and I've also tried using Smart install manager with the "SMART Notebook.msi". I tried to use the -q switch on both and it didn't help.

 

Is there anyway to get the installer to ignore the CPU check and install anyway?

 

Or is there a way to extract the files from the exe and install manually?

 

Sorry, I'm new to this and trying to feel my way through it.

I managed to get the program working by editing the .msi file with Orca. I deleted the rows at customaction checksse2support.

 

Now I'm getting an exception error on program start, notebook.exe 0xc000001d. Illegal Instruction.

 

Is there anyway to find out what instruction is causing the error?

Is there anything in the event log to give you more detail?

This weekend is an extended holiday in the UK due to Easter and even more extended in Australia because Easter gets mixed up with Anzac day... there doesn't seem to be many edugeeks around. You might need to bump this around Tuesday.

It requires Pentium 4 or athlon x64 chips at minimum...the xps range is about the same as the top end Pentium 3 chips.
