jon0 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Hi, Our main network is 2003 server with around 1000 users and approx 600 PCs. We have 1 xserve 10.5.8 with OD, 15 imacs and around 20 user accounts. Up until now the mac and Microsoft networks have been separate. We have purchased more imacs and the idea is to sync the AD user accounts into OD so an AD account user can log into the mac network. This will save me the task of managing 2 sets of user accounts and passwords. So far I have enabled the AD plugin on the xserve via directory utility and all seems well. I have opened up WGM and authenticated to the AD domain and I can see all my AD user accounts. So far so good. on a 10.6 imac I have added the AD domain with directory utility and both OD and AD domain appear ok. The search order is as follows: /local/default bsd/local /ldapv3/fqdn /active directory/all domains From the imac I can log in locally, using an OD account but I cannot log in using an AD account. What have I missed? Any help would be much appreciated. Jono
jon0 Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 Sorted it. The test AD account user didn't have a home directory. It now works, which is pretty cool!
