Thinstation - Config File tweeks / problem

Hi,

 

I am playing with Thinstation and i am pretty impressed i just have a few issues.

 

1. Although i have set the resolution to 1024 x 768 in the config file it wont set as that.

 

2. How would i please set it so it always asks for a username and password on connection like on the attached?

 

If anyone can help i would appreciate it. I have attached my config file.

SCREEN_RESOLUTION="1024x768" looks correct - are you sure the config file is being read? (if not it will default to the .buildtime config.

perhaps the correct graphics driver isn't being used?

also - put "-a 24" in SESSION_0_RDESKTOP_OPTIONS

 

we found that on some of our via motherboards the bios occasionally needs a reset otherwise it defaults t 640x480 - no idea why...

I know its being read as when i make changed to other areas things change. I have tried on a VMware virtual machine and a Dell Latitude D620

 

When i put this in nothing seems to happen.

You might need to send a space -u ' ', I went through this before.

That didnt do it - but this did: -u '' with no space

I didn't say it wouldn't, I just don't encourage quoting unless there's a reason to do so.

 

640x480 is interesting, lets eliminate the TS by firing it to something else (a windows xp workstation maybe) just to prove where the issue lies.

 

Also, you could try

 

#X_DRIVER_NAME="mga"

 

Set that to vesa and uncomment it.

Just a quick question. Is there a way to set it so it will automatically set to the highest resolution possible for the monitor please?

 

Another question, just something little, is there a way to set the cursor Smaller & white like the standard windows one please?

 

Also is there any other comments or suggestions you have for the config file please?

will set yuo one server, you should be able to load balance by adding a round robin DNS for a few servers.

 

running a webbrowser (firefox is included) is a nice addition - saves using TS resources for browsing/webmail etc. Auth to your smoothwall....

are you planning on allowing usb storage devices?

we found some devices don't work, but others (fat32) are fine

If put into production we do plan to use our farm name here. But this is inside a test area so we only have one server.
