bertster Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hi, One of our Networx switches has failed and I need some advice on a suitable replacement. This dead switch has a fibre optic 100BASE-FX port installed in the rear expansion slot. The fibre connections are ST. New switches I've looked at all seem to have a different fibre interface (T/TX). I presume that there is some sort of adapter/converter on the market? Additionally we are just starting to think about vlan implementation, so any new switch must be able to cater for vlan. 16 or 24 ports. Any help / advice appriciated - Thanks
januttall Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 some of the cisco smart swiches may be worth looking into some come with spf spaces so that fiber moduals can be added and they are at quite a low price. i only know because we have been looking for a replacement swich over the last few days. we have orderd one but have yet to take dilivery so dont as of yet have any idea on preformance.
