LosOjos Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Has anybody else had this problem? Teachers can access their marksheets fine through Assessment Manager, but when they click the 'Marksheet' tab in Lesson Monitor it says "A Marksheet has not been created". It's not a huge problem, but I'd like to know why it's happening and fix it if possible.
Sivadam Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) If they are the owner of that sheet then they should see it (in the sense that they are the Class Teacher, not the HOD). If not then they will not see it. Are they the 'owners' in Course Mangement? I assume that you use the standard 'Class Teacher' Permissions in SYSMAN? Edited January 19, 2011 by Sivadam

Hi Sivadam, yes they are the owners, and yes all teachers have standard 'Class Teacher' permissions assigned. They can access the marksheets through 'My Marksheets' no problem, they just don't show up on the 'Marksheet' tab in Lesson Monitor
Sivadam Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) Sorry, I cannot really help. Ours are working fine - even with Exam marksheets which are the ones which are usually a problem. You seem to have everything set up ok. I assume that the templates are not locked? If your issue was the other way round (Not in AM7 but in LM7) then there is a report of this being a real problem - to be fixed by Spring Release. KB93278 Edited January 19, 2011 by Sivadam 1
LosOjos Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 They're all unlocked and active, really can't figure out what the problem is! I'll investigate further and report it as a bug if that's what it appears to be
Sivadam Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Over the years I have had my time wasted in exactly the same way that you have! Them - "SIMS is broken!" Me - "No it ain't - go back and use it correctly!" SIMS very rarely doesn't work as long as you ask it to do summat it was designed for!
vikpaw Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Isn't there some config the user has to do, like right click on the tab and choose which marksheets they want to show up? Especially if they have more than 5 allocated to them. 1

Especially if they have more than 5 allocated to them. That's a new one to me Vikpaw! It's not the solution in this case but certainly worth knowing, so thanks anyway! Should have posted here really that this is 'solved'. The reason for the virtual air quotes is that there was never really a problem; the user was trying to access somebody else's marksheets through her own register
Sivadam Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The limit is not a total limit! It refers to just those for the Class displayed on the open Register! So if Staff X has opened Register 9x/Sc4 then they can see up to 5 Marksheets for that class. If there are more than 5 available you can right click and Configure which to show! It most cases there will probably not be 5 showing! 1

I cannot see the point in developers forcibly applying limitations to their systems without good reason to do so. At least give us the option to set the limits ourselves!

I would not like to comment on why Capita have these restrictions. I am sure that there are good reasons. Maybe it would affect performance of Register Loading if there were many different options? Perhaps I can pose this question at the next meeting I attend, if a suitable occasion arises. Oh No! I got another Green Square! Bugga! I worked hard at getting rid of that!
