DoudouLinux is a system specially designed for children to make computer use as easy and pleasant as possible for them (and for their parents too! [2]). DoudouLinux provides tens of applications that suit children from 2 years on and tries to give them an environment as easy to use as a gaming console.

Available as an autorun CDROM, DoudouLinux does not need installing. It does not touch the data in the computer it runs on, nor the system installed on the computer. Shipped with built-in content filtering, it prevents children from accidentally visiting unsavory web sites

Doesn't look too bad. I've got it running on an old laptop and it look promising. I'm going to try it with the afterschool club kids this afternoon their ages range from 3-10 so should be a good little test.

P.S. I've been having fun with the tux lemmings game too, but don't tell anyone ;-)

Tried it with the kids yesterday. They seemed to really like it, and some of the games looked good for building mouse skills etc. The only thing I found is if a child who has trouble reading they will need supervision to explain what to do, but the level of reading needed is very low.
