Has anyone linked their microsoft live@edu email to their active directory?

We use MS Live@edu for our staff email which is great and does the job well. However I quite fancy moving our students across to it as well. The stumbling block at the moment is having to add all the students on manually. I haven't yet found a solution for this yet so wondered if any edugeekers have done this?

Hmm, that's a nice idea. i did see an app by a norwgian company to link live@edu directly to AD but at £500 I have no chance at the moment.

We use Microsoft Identity LifeCycle Manager, which they sell for about $200 for the purposes of live@edu. This also allows for password changes to sync straight from AD to live@edu

Just looking into this myself. I've setup live@edu on a new domain and it works well for my test account.

 

I need to sync active directory with Live@edu. Is lifecycle manager actually any good? Any screenshots or reports on it?

 

I'm moving from an exchange 2003 system so does it interfere in any way with the current exchange accounts?

Just out of interest how do you find the service?

 

Is it reliable enough to roll out school wide? Teachers and admin staff as well as students?

 

I'm loving the interface so far but bit worried about the implications and restrictions once I put it into outlook.
